On April 21, KAAGNY and the Korean American Community Task Force Against Asian Hate hosted an online Information Seminar on #StopAsianHate with the NYC Mayor's Community Affairs Unit and members of local law enforcement.

The purpose of the seminar was to inform the Korean community on the localized approach that the NYPD is taking to address the surge of anti-Asian hate incidents. The panel was composed of Inspector Tommy Ng and Detective Moses Jang of the NYPD Asian Hate Crimes Task Force and Deputy Inspector Jessica Corey of the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force. The panelists were joined by NYC Councilman Peter Koo, who spoke on the what measures local government is taking in this effort.

The panelists took direct questions from the attendees, which ranged from in-language resources for Korean-speaking victims, guidance on what a bystander can do when they witness a hate incident, and what measures the NYPD is taking to protect victims/witnesses from retaliation.
